A friend lent me this mannequin a good deal of months ago (almost a year actually) so that I could work on my wedding dress in preparation for my wedding. Both my friend and I ended up moving to different towns after the wedding, and the mannequin has been lounging in my lounge ever since. I do indeed intend to return it to her when I can, but in the meantime, it waits patiently and enjoys creating a headless silhouette in front of the window for those dark-of-night trips to the bathroom. Anyhow, the actual concept of taking a mannequin outside for its very own photo shoot was my husband's, and I'd kept the idea on the shelf for quite a while.. until today.

If Mannequins Could Talk

One Step In The Forest
Beverley M. Photography
Well, yesterday I decided to give a self-portrait a go. Armed with an excellent but heavily-built tripod that has sliding legs that go up and down all over the show, I headed into the trees. The weather was so gloriously warm and the place where I chose to take the photos was just too beautiful: light streaming through, pine needles soft under my feet. And it was quiet, so quiet.

When The Spider Spins Its Web
Beverley M. Photography
While taking a leisurely walk with the camera just yesterday, I accidentally walked into a spiderweb stretched across the walkway. Well, at least, it was the outer edges of the web. The web itself remained intact and in place..and I was saved from doing a rather unladylike dance with my arms flapping around in the air like a mad thing. Stepping back from the floating masterpiece that this tiny little spider had created, I could marvel at its complexity and the size of the chasm the little furry fellow had crossed in order to spin it. Nature takes my breath away.

The Old Timber Shed {Photoshoot with Gen, Olivia and Clyne}
Beverley M. Photography
Nestled within the coastal bushes and trees of the cozy little town where I spent my childhood years, is a grand old timber shed. Barely a building anymore, all that remains now is the crumbling skeleton of an old stone building hardly noticeable in its leafy hide-away. As the sun made a dip towards the horizon, I had a moment of being able to capture some of its beauty (and that of the three wonderful ladies featured below!).
