If Mannequins Could Talk

Beverley M. Photography

A friend lent me this mannequin a good deal of months ago (almost a year actually) so that I could work on my wedding dress in preparation for my wedding. Both my friend and I ended up moving to different towns after the wedding, and the mannequin has been lounging in my lounge ever since. I do indeed intend to return it to her when I can, but in the meantime, it waits patiently and enjoys creating a headless silhouette in front of the window for those dark-of-night trips to the bathroom. Anyhow, the actual concept of taking a mannequin outside for its very own photo shoot was my husband's, and I'd kept the idea on the shelf for quite a while.. until today.

One Step In The Forest

Beverley M. Photography

Well, yesterday I decided to give a self-portrait a go. Armed with an excellent but heavily-built tripod that has sliding legs that go up and down all over the show, I headed into the trees. The weather was so gloriously warm and the place where I chose to take the photos was just too beautiful: light streaming through, pine needles soft under my feet. And it was quiet, so quiet.
