Anita { Creative Collaboration Shoot - Part 1 }

Beverley M. Photography

In my journey through life, I've been blessed to meet many wonderful people. I've also had the marvelous opportunity to cross the path of people I like to call, 'golden'. Golden folk have this way of making you see life from a different perspective, usually having such a refreshingly genuine take on things that you can't help but feel inspired. Inspired to do stuff and not just try. Glory days, where did that little motivational speech come from?

Anywho..

Anita, she's a golden. She's also a creative.

So, after a creative brainstorm with her(over tea and chocolate chip cookies), we made our way into the forest. Our shoot itinerary consisted of: a dog, a chair, more cookies, a flask and mugs, apples, photographs..and so much other stuff we nearly never made it out of the forest again. We also had so many creative ideas and not enough time, hence the whole 'part 1' thing. Part 2 will follow when we get another chance to shoot together again.

Maryane { Portrait Shoot }

Beverley M. Photography

"The true beauty of music is that it connects people. It carries a message, and we, the musicians, are the messengers. " ~Roy Ayers

The beautiful human featured in today's post is a messenger, one with such a big assortment of musical abilities, we weren't even able to bring all of them to the photo session! Next time, accordion, next time..

To all of you kind messenger folk out there, thank you. Thank you for lugging heavy, awkwardly shaped instruments around while your shoulders complain in mild, aching protest. Thank you for spending hours upon hours on theory and scales while the rest of the world sleeps.
The messages written by you wonderful creatives weave their way through people's lives in so many ways - adding another level of awesome to celebrations and events, inspiring those without the motivation to work/study, helping folks with break-up blues(Gloria Gaynor, anyone?). These are really just a few of the scenarios that I can quickly think of off the top of my head, please feel free to add more in the comments!

My personal favourite.. musicians create the chillest vibe when folks need it. Where would weekends be without music? So, here's to weekends and musicians, you two are just the best!

These two images below are purely experimental, and were taken after the sun had gone down and the park was nice and dark. What can I say, it's not every day I get to prance around(somewhat clumsily) in the dark throwing light from a camera flash at someone. Please bear with me, fellow togs, I'll get better at this, I promise ;)
